Hello everyone!
Finally a few minutes to myself so I can update this website! Everything is updated now including much anticipated scores.
First piece of news is Erin won the Australian Longboard Titles in the Junior division. What an amazing acheivement for such a young, talented girl. We are all so proud of you and wish you all the best in your domination of girls longboarding. I have put some pics here to the left of Erin at the Aussie titles and also the State Titles - which she won too! Thanks to Helen for the pics and the report which I have included here:
This last week Erin attended the Country Energy Australian Surf Festival's Longboard Titles in Port Macquarie. As the current NSW State U18 Girls champion she continued her dominance in the junior ranks to win the Australian Title.
She surfed well all week, easily winning her heat and her Semi final to secure her Final Berth. The 30 minute final was a seasawing event in small but clean surf with not too many good wave opportunities. Finally after about 20 minutes Erin posted a 6.1 score followed in the dying minutes with an impressive 7.25 claiming her the title.
Erin also surfed well in the Open Women's going into this division as the 2nd reserve for NSW. She drew a tough heat which put her in into the requalify round. Erin easily won her requalify round. In Round 2 Erin surfed extremely well knocking out key competitors to score herself a Semi Final spot. Her semi final put her back up against the two that had beat her in the heats, the two ladies that went on to place 1st and 2nd in the Open Womens division.
So, Australian U18 Junior Girls Champion and Open Women's Semi finalist 2010. WOW!!! Surfing NSW were also impressed with Erin's surfing ability this week. They have selected to sponsor her to attend the High Performance Longboard Camp in Late October. This is a wonderful opportunity for her.
I received a letter a couple of days ago from the Lions Club of Gerringong. We were able to give them $1200 in the end and the money will be used for the Lion's Children's Mobility Foundation, which assists in supply local children with cerebal palsy with walking aids. This sounds like a wonderful way to use the money you all helped raise. Thank you so much again!!!
Make a note in your diary for the Presentation Night - its Saturday the 11th of December and we have secured the Fishermans Club at Gerroa for the evening.
Thanks again for everyone who helps out every pointscore to ensure everything runs smoothly, which is has. And to our wonderful cooks Serge, Steve and Peter for making sure we are all fed! Fingers crossed, the weeks point score will so good waves and no wind! See you all there.
