10 years old and going strong!

Welcome back everyone! Hope you all had a safe Christmas and New Year and some time off! We had great attendance at the AGM and your committee for this year is:

President - me again
Secretary - my right hand man, Bob
Treasurer - Mick Morgan
Committee members - Gareth McAuslin, Steve and Serge Caradonna.

Thanks guys for putting your hands up again to see that this club grows and thrives! If you couldn't make it, here are some of the points covered:

1. Subscriptions for the year went up to $60 to be able to donate the extra $10 to the Queensland Flood Appeal (great idea Clive!)
2. Special social events for this year being out 10th year as a club
3. Comp format - heats will now be judged out of 20 and a max of 5 per heat where possible. Ken also explained the handicap systems and you can read more about that on the results page.
4. Judging will be supervised by the very capable Gareth this year and John Mandybur will also be imparting on us his knowledge in the judging area.
5. Promoting more SUPs to join this year. So if you know anyone, invite them along to the next pointscore.
6. Catering - after a successful year last year, Steve and Serge have agreed to continue on providing their tasty cuisine. We even invested in an Esky to keep those drinks cold!
7. Tim at the caravan park has generously allowed us to park the trailer there between comps.
8. Mick has offered all members a keyring membership to Core Surf Store which includes discounts at his shop.

Well, 2011 is off to a great start with our first pointscore in January seeing us have 10 heats. We saw the welcome return of some old members and some new ones too! Thanks to everyone for the continuing lugging of the gear to the beach and back. Without you guys, this club wouldn't be what it is today - a great bunch of like-minded surfers who just want to enjoy surfing, have some fun, and make some great friendships!
